The kids parade in Audubon Park in the morning… so just a few little favorites from tonight.
(As for anyone who was there and maybe on a more informed part of the route, WTF happened?!)
Even with the huge breakdowns (or whatever) we had a blast!!
Thaw before reheating.

Regular dishes on life in New Orleans, historic home renovation, raising kids, completing a PhD, travel near and far, global concerns, and health issues.
You know the story, right? International health... work all over the place... drag my kids around in sacks through villages in Central America... yadda yadda. I decided to go for another degree, so in 2004 we moved to New Orleans with no intention of staying. Then Katrina. And then *blink*blink* New Orleans is a completely different place and we just can't leave. Suddenly I'm on TV talking about immigrants and health and Paul is starting a company. Or two. His side is high-tech, mine is community health and our lives are yearly evacuation, regular celebrations, and nonstop work here, there, and everywhere. Our door is always open. I only ask that if you decide to go ahead and make yourself that mint julep, you make one for me, too.
We strive to make our life our argument.

I tried to give you a call after we got all sat down, etc – but I forgot to bring your hubby’s cell number with me 🙂 We were just getting ready to leave when things started rolling again 🙂 Mama is still trying to recover from the parade last night 🙂 See you on Sunday!!!! Let me know if you want me to bring anything.

That is one of my favorite pics of El. E.V.E.R.
Thanks for capturing his happy spirit!

From talking with a police officer last night, I found out that one of the previous parades had a float break an axle. Thus, the inordinate wait. It was nice running into you.

Great pics Holly! Love them all, ESPECIALLY the one of Amaya and her Pop. They have a special bond over their weekly bike rides (she rejects my bike ride offers, stating that “Pop takes me, only Pop.” I have never seen them on a bike ride, or captured that moment, so I am VERY grateful for the photo! I will try to right click this…but if not is it on fourleafcloverphotography.smugmug.com?
It was great to see you guys over Carnival. Thanks for coming to the shop and bringing your sweet family.
