Immigrants from Mexico participate in a cultural program showcasing traditional Mexican dance and dress at half-time during a Pan-American soccer game held in New Orleans, LA.
Creo que el futuro de los Estados Unidos está escrito en más que una lengua.
I believe that the future of the United States is written in more than one language.
Hispanics are the largest ethnic minority in the United States. Within my children’s lifetimes, this group is predicted to become the largest ethnic group in the United States. I believe that embracing our Nation’s future as part of the Americas, and seeing ourselves as a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-cultural society is what will bring us hope for the future.

I like it and agree heartily, even though I’ve failed miserably at learning a second language.

That is my hope and dream. Great idea for this theme.
Happy New Year

I have nothing against other languages or cultures, but The U.S. should remain bound to the Constitution that has made her great for so many centuries.
My Photo Hunters is up today. I ‘HOPE’ you get the chance to visit and leave your link.

Wonderful. One of the things that makes my city, SAn Francisco, so great is the many colorful, musical Mexican and Central American peoples and festivals we have here: from Carnivale to Day of the Dead.
In response to your second commenter: is there a reason the growing Hispanic population is going to threaten the Constitution? Haven’t heard any recent immigrants from around here saying they want to change anything. In fact, many made a lot of sacrifices to get here and work mighty hard to make it hear. Anyone willing to put that much effort into being an American is okay in my book.

Mike: thanks for visiting — your photographs are outstanding! For what it’s worth, I’m glad that you’ve dabbled in a second language! It’s very difficult to learn any language you haven’t had exposure to from childhood!
Mrs. Mecomber: thanks for visiting.
Lisa: Great comment, thank you thank you! Everything you say about San Francisco makes me believe that it truly is the promised land!

I left the wrong blog in my address above. The rose wasn’t my photo hunt photo for hope. There’s an even better picture for “hope” on my other blog. Interpret however you want.

“… seeing ourselves as a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-cultural society is what will bring us hope for the future.”
Oh, yes. I hope so, too.
