This morning, Will’s friend Ana called to check in and see how he was feeling. She was very worried about him being sick. Just picture it: 3-year old Ana, in her sweet, thoughtful, and gentle manner, calling on the phone to ask Will about how he was feeling and tell him that she hoped he’d feel better soon.
(Is your heart breaking? If not, check for a pulse.)
Will, in a surprise move, answered by telling her about his Spiderman underwear. Yes, missing the boat entirely, Will launched into conversation about his briefs. Granted, to Will, Spiderman underwear is an equally important and sensitive matter of conversation.
I can’t help but be surprised as how utterly clueless boys can be, even at the age of 3.

This is the way the girls learn early on how to identify exactly how “sick” or hurt a male truly is. If they start talking about other things, then they are on the mend. 🙂
Definitely save the memory of that conversation for his wedding day!

When I was in sixth grade, on the soccer field, a red-headed Irish girl whose father worked, I believe, in the State Department, ran up to me, kissed me and told me that she loved me. Completely oblivious, I stared at her to her embarassment, and then received a pass and scored a goal Beckham-style. She left the field in tears. I have received Karmic punishment for my trangress ever since. My life could’ve been very different.
