After enjoying City Park’s Sculpture Gardens, we ran around the expansive lawn in front of the Museum of Art.
These are all presented as I shot them (some with a little cropping). Maybe later I’ll put up some in black and white and with other effects. I’m curious as to people’s take on them… because I see the world in color, and lived the moments I photograph in color, seeing them in black and white always seems stark and empty to me. But I enjoy other people’s black and white photography, so maybe others would see something else that I’m missing? I’d enjoy the feedback if I can get the other effects up in another post…
Until then, enjoy the fun afternoon as I experienced it.

I completely agree with you about the B&W. I love to see photos in B&W, but I am always hesitant to do my own in it – even wedding photos that we do. I have found that B&W with a lot of contrast in them always appeals to me more than the rather bland “grey” photos. I used to play with the printing in the darkroom, and enjoyed it. Now I just need to mess around with the digital prints and regain some of the B&W fascination I used to have. Let us see the B&W once you’ve done them up. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for your thoughts!! I’m very glad to hear that my hesitation wasn’t an isolated experience. So many photographers use B&W and I don’t seem to be able to… even when I think it looks okay… because I’m attached to the color image as it reflects my memory. It sounds like you’ve got actual print experience (versus me… I describe my photography as “shooting” the way I might paint, if I could ever find the time) so I would love your technical expertise! 🙂
