Activity: prints of hands and feet made with tempura paints
Soundtrack: REM’s Automatic for the People
Colors: blue, yellow, pink Kate got into the action, too. (Note her blue foot, below.) She also took a brush to the head.
Some final products. Top picture is Will’s hands and feet. The bottom shows a hand and foot for each of us (Mommy, Will, and Baby Kate.)
Kate’s hair. Restored to it’s fluffy you-name-it-color after bathtime paint removal.

Holly, what a wonderful activity. You were very brave to even attempt hand and footprints with little ones. You get my vote for “Mother of the Year”.

It was worth it for the fun foot-prints. But it is definitely not an antiseptic activity! We had blue paint on the floor (so much for “don’t move, Will!”) and I managed to smack Kate in the head with the paintbrush. It really wasn’t too bad, though. I’d be comfortable with much more mess — if I could feel certain that Will wouldn’t go smearing it all over the walls or something. A few more years… then we can really go to town! Until then, thank goodness for water soluable paints!
