One Monster After Another (One of my childhood favorites. The pictures are outstanding and saying the names is a lot of fun.)
Backbeard and The Birthday Suit (Backbeard is the world’s hairiest pirate. In this book, he has a fashion crisis.)
Barnyard Dance (Reads like a song!)
Go Away, Big Green Monster! (Will loves to read this one to himself. The monster “goes away” page by page.)

Hi Holly,
I recently heard Daniel Pinkwater and Scott Simon read a new kids book by Brian Lies called Bats at the Beach. It was wonderful. I think you might enjoy it. Here’s a weblink that will tell you more: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5507234

I have a recommendation for a series of books that tell very simple yet fun stories. The Barbapap series. I originally had them in French and recently found out they are now in English and 40 other languages. Great happy books that encourage reading.

Thanks for the great book suggestions! We’re hoping to get to the library tomorrow (preschooler-mood pending) and I will definitely look up the titles!
