I have a long standing “thing” for geeks. I’ve generally felt that I was a least a little on the geeky side, my dating history is (almost?) exclusively with geeks, and I definitely married one.
Last night, the subject of “geeks” came up during our weekly post-unicycle/juggling club potluck. So we took the Geek Test.
Let’s just say Paul scored really, really, high. I came out at just under 29% geek (“Total Geek”). Anyone else up for a score?

So, I’m at work, procrastinating…took the test and barely ranked as a geek at 15.97633%. Laura

I too procrastinated at work. I am a 17% geek.

33.92505% – Total Geek
My participation in the SCA (yes, I am an officer and have framed my scrolls), high school band, and RPGs doomed me.
To that, all I can say is, “Khaaaaaaaaaaaaan!”
🙂

Phew! I’m glad you’re with me, Melanie! I think my background in theatre, interest in literature, and use of high-level math in work is what piled on the points for me. Or maybe it was just due to my marsupial husband. 🙂

You have a thing for geeks so long as they have muscles, are good with their hands and are generally ungeeky.

Paul thanks you for the hottie plug.
And yes, my geek “type” is the guy who can fix things, has a head for electronics, engines, construction, etc., and — more importantly — is humble enough to not assume I’m clueless in those areas and respectful and patient enough to help me learn what I don’t know. (Other pluses consistent with “geek” status are being well-read, speaking a second language, and having an interest in the arts.)
Maybe there is something to women wanting to be pampered. Scarlett looked for the guy with the money to put stability in her life. I look for the guy who can fix all the stuff I break.

Aggghhhh.
Mario and I are just posers.
We’ve deicided that we are ‘dorks’ instead of ‘geeks.’

Yep, I’m a geek, just barely.

“Maybe there is something to women wanting to be pampered.”
Really? “You cannot be serious.”
Sometimes you remind me of Greta Garbo in “Ninotchka,” Holly. Ever seen that movie?
