After a nice conversation yesterday with my Grandma Betty, we were suprised this morning to get a call from her doctor with very bad news. She is declining rapidly. Tests are being run. Unless they can find evidence of infection or stroke, her doctor is recommending hospice care. I’m not sure how much more heartbreak we can take right now.

Holly,
This is all heartbreaking. I am at a loss for words about what you are describing through your postings and photos. I honestly cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through. You are one of the strongest, most intelligent and resourceful people I know. You will surely pull through this with all the love and support of those around you. I am thinking about you and checking the blog a few times a week. — Amy K

Speechless. I’m not sure what to say, except that I can remember hearing Grandma Betty’s infectious laughter over the phone in Centreville as plain as if it happened yesterday. I’m not going to even attempt condolences.

I’m very sorry. I’m sending you positive thoughts and mental hugs today.

Holly,
I echo Amy and Violet’s thoughts, and am also at a loss of words. Although you are one of the strongest women I know, you do not need or deserve any more heartache. My thoughts and love are with you and your family during these difficult times.

Holly,
I concur with Amy, Bethany, and Violet’s thoughts. You are one of the smartest, kindest, and strongest women (people) I know. I know you and Paul will make it through this and figure out what to do. I’m so sorry this is happening to you (and 1000’s of others). Keep your head up.
Also, like Amy, I think of you often and check the blog a few times a week. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
